Amazon is the not the name that jumps to mind when I think about cocktail attire. But low and behold. I found three very viable options and all for under $35. The only thing I need, besides and iron and a spray tan, is help deciding which one to keep for an upcoming work awards ceremony Im attending this week. Yikes.
Read MoreI do love to organize, but I am not a minimalist. Not by a long shot. I love having the right thing for the right occasion and I’m a product junkie. Have you seen my Instagram account? I admire true minimalists, but I am simply not wired that way. That said, I do a decent job of managing my “crap”. My desire to have a de-cluttered living space is what drives me to stay on top of it. You’d think someone who was a natural minimalist would be better served to write a blog post on purging. Lol. Hear me out. A person (me) who is not naturally inclined offers credibility because I understand the land mines that can sabotage a good purge sesh.
Read MoreWhen I started Kim Half Kept in early 2019, I had a to write a bio in my profile that could only be a couple sentences. It included something like “I want to share things that make my life better, easier or more enjoyable and it’s not just vodka”. THIS LIST is all of those things and more. I knew I wanted to to do a end-of-year highlight post. I couldn’t decide if I would do a list of MY favorite things from 2019 or a top seller list (a.k.a. YOUR favorite things). But then I realized they were almost the identical. Coincidence? I think not. Great minds think alike :)
Read MoreI had every intention of hitting this sale up in person over this holiday break while visiting my babysitters, I mean, my parents. HOWEVER, the grapevine in southern california was closed down and every single car in the North America is on the 5 freeway creating the worst gridlock I have seen in the past 20 years of driving socal freeways. So, I will be found sucking my thumb in my pajamas with a giant LATTE turned VODKA for the next two days. Now that I’ve got that off my chest, here are my picks from the sale. Almost everything is newly marked down, 40% OFF and under $50 (a couple worthy exceptions).
Read MoreStocking stuffers for HIM. This was a fun one because my husband is a bit of a product junkie, like me. I know so romantic. So, I pretty much just raided his closet, car and drawers to remind myself of all his favorite “little things”. He disagrees with ONE item on this list. I was unwilling to remove it because, sometimes, we give spouses gifts WE want them to have, and not because they want it….PERSAY. AMMMMMMIIII right? It’s an unwritten spousal right we have. So it stays. Any guesses?
Read MoreSince I am deal finder in June, you better believe I want a MAJOR deal on Black Friday/Cyber Monday. Normally I am grateful for any discount off, but my greedy, cheap butt won’t blink an eye at that this week. I want something to write home about. Something I can tell my friends about in the carpool line. Ya know? I also don’t believe this is a time to buy a bunch of carp you don’t need with money you don’t have. But if you are going to be buying gifts for people anyway or you are in the market for something specific, you might as well get it on sale. On major sale. So I picked some of my favorite go-to shopping spots and here they are:

Read MoreHoliday gift guide for teens is here! I’m outside of my pay grade on this one. I had call in the reinforcements. My tween and teenage nephews, Riggs and Gavin have the pulse on all things cool. Thankfully they helped me put together this holiday HIT list. I don’t remember by teenage wish list, but I can assure you, it looked a lot different. I think there might have been a Swatch landline phone on there. I want that again. Anyway, here is what’s HOT now…..

Read MoreMeatball, who goes by Griffin according to the state of California, started crawling out of his crib at 22 months. Yikes. We bought some time with a crib tent which was amazing and I HIGHLY recommend if you want to keep the crib but you’ve got a baby ninja on your hands. When he was almost three, he was potty trained and my lower back was on fire from taking him in and out of the crib so we opted for the big boy bed. Luckily, it worked out. Sources for as many things (or very similar) are linked below!

Read MoreWhen I was younger, I remember seeing a house on TV that had a dedicated gift wrapping ROOM. It had walls of built-in cabinets designed for rolls of wrapping paper that were stored by color and theme. A dedicated cutting station and double sided tape everywhere you looked. I now interrupt this programming for reality. My reality, which is that I scored the lower two shelves of our hallway closet to store my gift wrap. Oh well. But dammit it’s organized. My goals with gift wrapping have shifted a bit. It went from rooms of color-coded gift wrap to… “I need the easy button early and often.” Here are a couple of things that I
Read MoreThe jacket category was en FUEGO this week at Target. Faux fur, puffer, sherpa… no material left behind here. I didn’t even dabble in faux leather because it was just too overwhelming. I really had a hard time not coming home with all of these. I mean, I didn’t leave empty handed and I also had a little bit of non-buyers remorse on two which I had to make right when I got home. They also did not have all my sizes which will detail next.
Read MoreThrow blankets bring it all together. A couch, a bed, a chair, bench, a ladder, in a basket…. should I keep going? Like many accessories, they can be very expensive. What’s funny, is that the most cozy and most utilized blankets in our house have been more affordable ones. Thank you very much, Target. Their throw blanket game has had some recent additions that are worth taking a look. And per usual, very affordable. So many of their best finds are not available in the store. Why do they keep this all a secret? I got you.
